Hal Fryar left us to be with his Lord and Savior on June 25, 2017.

The year 2012 found Hal and Henrietta Fryar and their bichon, Muffin, moving back to Florida. No, Hal has not officially retired from performing or appearing in public. He is slower than he used to be physically and won't be running any marathons, but he is still the same person we have all loved all of these years! Hal is still feisty, full of spirit, humor and fun!

Hal and Henrietta lived in Florida from 1995 until 2003 when they moved back to Indiana. Even without the benefit of having been known from television Hal was able to keep busy as a humorist, speaker and entertainer. He did many bit parts and walk-ons in film and TV while living in Florida.  The most exciting film featured Tom Hanks in a production for HBO.  The five-part series was titled "From Earth to the Moon". He had the very impressive roll of being an Air Force General.  It was not a speaking part and Hal thinks he might have been on the screen for as much as five seconds.  Mr. Hanks, he says, was a nice guy.

Hal started many years ago as a standup comic before his TV days so he's very comfortable telling jokes, stories and singing a song or two.  These days he employs those same ingredients for church programs and adult family programs.  He even sneaks in a high school reunion for baby boomers.

Hal has always been active in church and community affairs.  After returning to Indianapolis he became a member of the Advisory Board of CICOA (Central Indiana Council on Aging) where he served for many years. He was also a member of the Johnson County Council on Aging where he has served many years.

Hal was employed part time with Community Development, Inc. (CDI), a builder of homes for baby boomers who have reached the age of 55 years or more.  He participated in community activities for CDI and is a model home host. He often appears at health fairs for seniors and recently was emcee for a fundraiser for the Perry Township Senior Center and has donated his time for many charity events over the years.

Hal is listed at the Internet Movie Database (IMDb)
